Duck Soup part 1

After a considerable delay, here's part 1 of "Duck Soup", the fifth Marx Brothers film and the last they made for Paramount (and incidentally the last Marx film with Zeppo). It bombed in 1933, but is now (rightfully, IMO) considered to be one of the funniest movies of all time.
BTW, "Duck Soup" also marks (no pun intended) the first time Margaret Dumont worked with the Marxes on a script written directly for the screen- her two previous films with them had been based on stage plays.

1964 Blood and black lace - Trailer

MY OPINION:
Here is the first real body count movie ever made. Even though the Bird with the Crystal Plumage is credited for being the first giallo, I'd have to say this movie is. We are introduced to the Black-gloved killer, the shiny razor blade, and the beautifully executed death scenes. One thing to notice is that you have these gorgeous women being killed in the most horrific ways, and Bava makes it work! The plot is nothing exciting, and the reveal of the killers didn't come to a GASP moment for me. But, after the movie was over I had to keep rewinding to re-watch the death scenes. They are what made the movie so incredible. It's very hard to imagine that this movie was made in 64. It was so ahead of its time, and I wonder how much scarier it probability was back then. For me I was on the edge of my seat during parts such as the antique store chase scene. The colors used were excellent. They weren't overdone like in Suspiria (the red lights were a little much). Overall, I would say Blood and Black Lace is the first real giallo. It is filled with great death scenes, great camera-work, creepy shots of allies in an Italian city, and a very scary looking murderer.

Isabella, a young model is murdered by a mysterious masked figure at a boarding house run by Max Morlacchi and his lover Countess Cristiana Como. When Isabella's boyfriend is suspected of the killing, her diary, which apparently has some incriminating evidence linking her to the killer, dissapears, the masked killer begins killing off all the models in and around the house to find the diary.
